About Us
Maureen and I have been with East West Ministries International since February of 2006.
We no longer live in Siliguri, but I, David, travel back and forth to South India, staying in hotels and training 16 men/women at a time. I hold 3-day seminars, developing Aposle Paul type strategies for church planting movements.
I, David, was born November 20, 1943 in Emporium, PA. I'm third of eight children to Titus and Katherine Slottje with four brothers and three sisters. My Dad is 95 (Sept. 22nd) and lives in Emporium. Dad went home on his birthday this year. He is being missed by all of our family and friends.
Following high school, I entered college to become a teacher. After three years I entered the US Army, spent a year with the 9th Infantry Division in South Viet Nam, and shortly after returning from Viet Nam became a committed Christian.
I returned to college at Westmont College, Santa Barbara, CA, graduating in 1972. From there I went to Dallas Theological Seminary graduating with a Th.M in 1976, then achieved my Doctor of Ministry from Talbot School of Theology at Biola in 1995. I have been in the pastorate for more than 30 years, always with a passion for missions.
Maureen and I were married December 21, 1971 during my last semester at Westmont. We have raised four daughters and have four granddaughters. All are with us on the Southern California coast. Aren't we fortunate?
Maureen Sloan Slottje was born October 9 to Dr. and Mrs. William Sloan in Everett, WA. She is second of four daughters to my former pastor, so I was smart enough to "marry up!" She graduated from Wheaton College with her RN and BS degree and continues to utilize that training today. She is a perfect wife for the upcoming roles God has called us to fulfill.
We raised four daughters, and now enjoy four granddaughters. When not in India, our residence is in Oceanside, CA., near our kids and grandkids. Photos can be seen on this website.
